As a seasoned hotelier or having run a resort, you will know how hard you really have to work, and how committed to the role you have to be. But it's the passion you have for this sector, and your knowledge of how to make it work, that makes you successful.
As General Manager of the resort group, you will be responsible for overviewing all the day-to-day operations of three resorts in two locations. All currently have Managers who run the day-to-day operations. The group has been run by the owner who will still retain involvement "in situ", so you will need to have special skills to manage this situation and at the same time balance your own views and skills to maintain the success and reputation already achieved.
You will be a leader who has a natural flair for managing and coaching staff, and be the proactive type who ensures that your team is engaged in achieving the required outcomes - absolute guest satisfaction, excellent employee relations, and highly profitable business operations. You will also be adept at developing relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
You will understand financial ramifications, have a fluid understanding and knowledge of sales and marketing in the hospitality sector, and be able to immediately hook into the right channels to ensure sales and occupancy is maximised.
The following are mandatory for this role and non-negotiable:
- Appropriate tertiary level qualifications
- Formal training or further qualifications in the hospitality sector.
- You must possess very good communication skills with English as your first language.
- Hospitality (as in resort or hotels)sector experience.
- Experience running multiple properties, and also have been involved managing a resort, rather than just a hotel.
Remuneration for this contract is by way of a generous salary, assistance with relocation costs after a qualifying period, contract completion bonus, and local benefits. Please note that this is not an expat location so does not have the usual expat benefits.
