Prime responsibility is to repair and maintain resort shuttle vehicles, other resort vehicles, golf carts and mechanical equipment. You will be an active member of the auto maintenance workshop activities, update service logs and records.  Ideally you will have experience with diesel, petrol, and electrical powered vehicles.

You will be a fully qualified automotive mechanic having worked with modern vehicles. A relevant trade qualification and experience within NZ or Australia would be preferred.

You will need to have a "can do" attitude and be able to use your creative abilities to ensure that all vehicles are operating, as the location often means that essential parts may not be immediately available.  In spite of this, high work standards are a must.

Above all, you must have verifiable skills and be of a personable nature able to communicate and work with a wide range of people.  You will also need to have excellent communication skills and will definitely need a healthy and fluent command of English.

Because of the physical nature of this type of work and the tropical climate, you will need to be physically fit, and for immigration purposes, you will be required to pass a comprehensive medical check.  A police check is also mandatory for working in this location.

The location does not qualify as an "ex-pat" location, so if you are after big money, then this role will not suit.  It is likely to more suit a younger tradesperson who wants to diversify his or her experience, or an energetic more mature person who is seeking a lifestyle change and is not "chasing the dollars".
